The Book on Fire in process

For some reason, I kept every scrap of paper I used while writing The Book on Fire. Before we left Egypt, I took a picture of the stack, then dumped it in the trash.

Here's the first page. As you can imagine, much of my time is spent trying to decipher my handwriting.

  1. loved this book every bit of it. thanks you!

  2. Thanks, Phong! Glad you enjoyed the book.

  3. There's going to be a day when the rich Texans from the Henry Ransom Center come sniffing around wanting to buy your original manuscripts and your children will wonder why you couldn't have stuck the stuff in some kind of storage to provide fodder for future literary scholars.
